That bridge collapse is another tragedy that should have never happened. Just like the levies in New Orleans the officials knew that there was a problem but they were cheap and took the easy way out. Instead of reinforcing the cracks with steel plates they decided to just do regular inspections instead and monitor the situation. What the hell?
