Well, I finished A Confederacy of Dunces...extremely good but not the kind of book that should be given to someone like me, who obviously has far too much time on their hands, as they will hurtle through it at breakneck speed and be left completely drained and empty afterwards. Ugh...I need to watch some fucking mindless cartoons.

A bit of news I skipped about this...

Crushes are like spices... A little and the dish is yummy. too much and it needs to be tossed out. Being the " crusher" is more fun than the crushee. My favorite moments are those glances, sidelong looks that lasted just a few seconds longer than they should....

I liked Confederacy of Dunces.. i think i like the circumstances surround the book more than the book itself. But it did stick with me..
I might recommend Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell or Tom Robbins Jitterbug Perfume.. if you like writing styles not just good stories...

This weekend unfolded with little to differentiate it from any other weekend with the possible exception of it's inclusion of a very small, insidiously adorable boy-child of 2 that I was asked to babysit for 2 days as a favor to a friend. This small addition required I be up by 6 instead of till 6, that sharp objects be conspicuously missing from all activities,...

So, I actually wrote something this morning... It's fairly long so rather than post the entire nocuous thing I'll give a paragraph or so and link to where the rest may be found by any curious parties. It is NOT what you'd call good, or really even fictional, but I so rarely write anything in the manner of a story that I had an urgent...

So it's 7:30 am and I just went to the bank in order to deposit money so that I could pay my storage bill a day too late. I knew that I had at least a tenner floating in there after everything cleared so on my way home I stopped to buy a bottle of wine at 7 11. I was elated to see they...

So... I downloaded that Feist song on the Chocolate phone commercial. God, I am such a sell-out. But I couldn't help myself... it's as though I were under the imperius curse... and yes, I just read the last HP book. I don't feel bad about waiting so long to read it because frankly, I called that shit after I read the first book... I've been...

How interesting... There's a poem by T.S. Elliot you've probably heard at least a few lines from somewhere as it's quoted frequently. It goes:

Time present and time past? Are both perhaps present in time future? And time future contained in time past.?If all time is eternally present? All time is unredeemable.?What might have been is an abstraction?Remaining a perpetual possibility?Only in a world of speculation.?What might have...

Meant to post yesterday but stayed up till 8 in the morning reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood instead, which is something I've meant to do for almost 4 years. Can't say I feel overly satisfied about accomplishing this small goal but it's hard to feel satisfied with much after reading any of that horrifying big-brother, religious-zealotry, militant government shit of the future, isn't...
