Los Angeles has been shrouded in gray for the past couple of days. We're even getting a little rain this morning, which is good for the psyche. Rain brings me a little joy. Others don't feel that way about it, but I do. It's cleansing. You need cleansing once in a while, don't you?
I'm in the midst of planning for a Labor Day getaway with Brian to Yosemite. Four days of camping bliss ... I can't wait. I'm going to cook fabulous things over a campfire, go without a hairdryer for a while, and romance and rest with my man in a tent (in fear of bears and other woodsy critters while we slumber) but I'm going to love every minute of it.
The one thing I'm looking forward to the most though, is spending REAL time with Brian without so much as a trace of a fucking DSL connection for miles. That is worth the long drive in and of itself. Unless we're at work, we're usually together. But it's not always time spent the way I wish it was. I've stopped working on UnEarthed for the most part, so it's solely up to him to maintain now, which is tough. We sit side-by-side in silence at our terminals for hours on end, and there are just times when I want to throw the fucking keyboard through a window.
On occasion, we'll have a "no computers" night, which is always amazing. We need more of them. A LOT more of them. I just need that human interaction with him far more than I need anything else. I'm not a hard person to live with and neither is he. In fact, I've never known someone who was easier to please than he is. But that also leaves a lot of room for things to go by the wayside, and be taken for granted. It's tough, at times, to get him to notice, you know what I mean?
I dunno. Maybe I'm just getting all "female" again.

I know what you mean about the rain. I love the calming effect of the rain and the smell of it. It's one of the reasons I moved to New Orleans and it is one of the reasons I want to move to Seattle. Rain is...i dunno...it' its own mood music. Rain is good. Camping is good. Camping while raining is not always so. Hopefully your getaway enjoys good weather. Have fun and we will anxiously await your return. No reason to hurry back, but don't stay away too long all the same. ;-)
