Autumn in her flaming dress
Of orange, brown, gold fallen leaves...
So, as in many other parts of the world on this glorious October day, it is grey and drizzling off and on. The temperature resembles a cool, wet washcloth laid across the face of the city. Many of us are quietly, thoughtfully celebrating the soft spirit of Autumn as the leaves float from their life-giving branches one by one.
I've already decorated my humble office space in flickering amber lights and black garlands and glow-in-the-dark skeleton bones, with an electric jack-o-lantern, candles that smell of black licorice and candy corn, a huge purple and black bat made of mesh and velvet hovering over my doorway, and artfully arranged, black satin masks. I've set out the sinful, glitter-covered basket in the shape of a witch's shoe, filled to the brim with sugary treats. I've scented the room with the candles while the sounds of October Rust fill the rest of the air.
Costume materials and notions are scattered here and there, and I await the e-Vite to what has certainly become one of the very best, most raucous Halloween parties of the year. It will arrive any day now. I've even found some Malificent address labels! She was always so very wicked.
We've acquired our discount coupons for the Halloween Haunt ($17 off!) and set the date for the Disneyland trip to visit the Nightmare Before Xmas Mansion for the second year in a row. SG gonna fuckitup on the 26th! Woop Woop!!!
Life is good. Can you feel it?
