This is just one of those days when I would much rather read and talk about other people's lives than write about or discuss about my own.
Not only did I wake up to my cat stomping on my head, but I really didn't feel like getting out of bed at all. I fell asleep at the tail end of the Stern show on E! last night at nearly 1:00am, and 7:00am comes way too soon when I make that mistake. The show was wierd enough on it's own, well, wierder than usual, because Robin was especially full of herself (laughing at her own very weak jokes, etc.); Howard was especially badgering when it came to trying to get that giant sloth that looks like Angelyne, Divine, and Mimi from The Drew Carey Show (a/k/a: Anna Nicole Smith) onto a scale so that he might win the money he bet on just how much she would weigh in at.
One of the lowest life forms on the show, Benji, fought valiantly against Stuttering John to defend the object of his desire (Anna) when John came in to join Howard in bullying Anna to put her giant caboose on the scale, and then here comes Crazy Cabbie with his freakish, pseudo- religious fanaticism about how he lost over 100 poinds on TrimSpa and she should try it, too! All this, and the contract that Benji made Anna sign stating that she would, in fact, go out on a date with him that weekend. Creeposity at an all time high in Stern land.
When I fell off to sleep, I had nightmares about my ex, and it wasn't pretty stuff. The entire thing was filled with lurid scenarios where he was carving huge pieces out of his own chest with a knife, just to horrify me, and then he would climb into bed while still bleeding, just to make me think he would bleed to death in his sleep. And, of course, I would be to blame because I couldn't stop him. I do remember weeping aloud at one point during the night, and grabbing for Brian in the dark. He is always good about telling me it's okay, and pulling me close to him whenever this happens. And it happens a lot.
I woke up this morning to the aforementioned head stomping, and then sat down to check my email only to find a nice long slap in the face by a certain band's manager that didn't sit well enough with me to be able to put off replying until later. Nope. Had to nip that one in the bud right away. We'll see how it finishes up.
Also found out that it's entirely possible that a co-workers' boyfriend may have seen my naked ass (and the rest of me, too) on SG or my website at some point or another. And if she's wise enough, (and she is) perhaps she's made her way to this very journal. Hmm. As cool as she is, I'm sure that you can imagine the ick factor that accompanies this news. My bed. Yep. Lying in it.
So... yeah... good times.
I'm wiped out and it's only mid-afternoon. I've got a show to attend at the Troubadour tonight although, to be perfectly honest, it is the last thing I want to do. But that's how it goes. Sometimes you have to buck up and be there for your friends, and that is what I plan to do. Besides, maybe some loudness and some club smoke are what I need to make this nastiness fade into the woodwork a little bit.
Oh, and I think my new African Tree Frog hates me.

Thanks. I think.

Listening to Stern makes we want to throw things. He is a monkey with a suit. The others are monkeys under a monkey. I like monkeys but not people that act like monkeys. Monkeys like to throw things.
