I'm curious about you..

What are you nicknames? How did you acquire them? Do you accept them as a badge of honor or something to be avoided?

  • the Purple Cloud an old timey novel about the Arctic, evil, and the end of the world


  • Just My Type, a book about typography and font history. Which also contains the Periodic Table of Typefaces!


  • Self Comes to Mind by Antonio Damasio, a book about the evolution of human consciousness


  • Memoirs of a Gnostic Dwarf by David Madsen - the fictional memoirs of a dwarf that believes in gnosticism and is the personal assistant to the Pope. Filthy and amazing, being looking for it for years.


  • Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic


  • How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe - one of the best sci-fi novels I've read in recent memory




Otherwise I've been well, dating, scheming, planning. I've got a personal trainer who's putting together a kettlebell regimen for me and I should be taking Systema classes in the New Year, once I'm back from the holidays.

I may be doing some travel in January, heavily considering Berlin / Barcelona.. but I'm open to ideas.

I was partial to Two O'Clock, given by a barkeep, since I routinely flouted the limit of last orders. I still use this in internal converstions, especially late at night.

Trouble, from a slightly sleazy fling-ex, but her marriage was already counter-clockwise.

My adopted name, , pinyin mai ke, which is on my signature seal.
