Photos from my Xmas, dinner at one of the best restaurants meals of my life.
We ate at Longjing (Dragon Well) Manor, a restaurant in the Hangzhou tea fields. Imagine taking a taxi up through the darkness in the mountains on a tiny road. The taxi asks for directions several times, and you arrive, greeting by your own private waitress. She gives you a tour of the moonlit gardens, and shows you the main building. It's filled with a rare rock collection, a circular conference table with a fish pond in the middle.
She shows you a book that shows you photos of all the farms from where you'll be eating your food. The restaurant uses only the freshest organic produce / meats and sources them directly from a network of 3000 farmers and providers. They don't go to the store.
Your waitress escorts you to your private themed dining with (with ensuite bathroom). You sit down, order two cups of Longjing Tea, and embark on a splendid 14 course odyssey through local / Chinese cuisine.
