Hmmm. I got mail today! My loan has been approved. Yeah!
From tomorrow on to the following Sunday.. I'll be updating this journal from the road.. cross Canada road trip then fun fun fun in Winnipeg. My big hope is to spot local Winnipeg celebrity Guy Madden.. underground film genius. I wrote this like 12 page essay on one of his movies. Grrr-eat.
Nothing happened today.. my phil. class was dominated by the annoying and boorishly minded Reese, in an ongoing series of dialogues/diatribes that I've since named "Reese's Pieces". God that man is annoying.
Been just trying to organize 500 things for this trip and my life and all that. Trying.. it is trying.
But I'm happy as I now know I will not be destitute for the summer.
I had one of those realization we all have sometimes that "holy shit! one day I WILL die". So those always paralyze one for a few moments.
Otherwise I found out that one of my fellow roadtrippers is from the same small town as me! and I met another girl from said town that lives here today.. who I've seen several times around. She's going to come out to her small town, small town-minded Mormon parents this summer.. complete with abrasive green mowhaired punk rock girlfriend. Should go over really well. And they plan to flaunt their homosexuality all through the small town and the summer parties.
This scares me a little bit as the first thing that came into my mind when she told me this is that "at some gravel pit party [rural small town = people party in gravel pits] rednecks are going to beat the shit out of you and maybe rape you". So hopefully it turns out better than that. Bad news bears as my friend Christie says.
Bought 2 cds today (a road trip tradition of mine.. always must buy new music before you go.. one that's been ongoing since my days of early childhood) Love's "Forever Changes" and "Carryin' on with" Johnny Cash + June Carter.
