On February 15th of this year, while wandering through the most beautiful Italian fields (Don’t bullshit, Leigh, you were browsing SuicideGirls) I gazed upon one of the most beautiful creatures I had ever seen. I was entranced, enchanted even, by her long dark locks and her smoldering smile, and even moreso by her beautiful eyes.

OK, so, she’s not the girl for me, because, as seen in photos on her page, she has a very supportive, loving boyfriend, and IMHO, that is just brilliant, I believe I told her as much too. But still, I’ll never forget that moment when I saw her face. Suddenly, Paul McCartney’s lyrics began to make sense, because, let’s be real here, you never forget a face, and when it is a face like @barbiedollx’s, you certainly don’t easily forget. I even posted a little mini-blog about her playing the ultimate face card.
We’ve kept contact, all through little comments and stuff like that, and in spite of my own quietness around SG for a little while, I made a comment on her photo from April the 6th. Her response? I miss youuu (She’s beautiful and kind, but, she’s gonna be a shit sniper LMAO). Now, little comments like that, even over a computer screen, mean a lot. It shows that you and your words mean something to someone. It doesn’t have to get creepy, and I certainly ain’t gonna take that as a sign that I can overstep any line, it is just a nice way to show affection, albeit as somewhat online friends.
I have seen, so many times, in my 12 years on SG, so many models who don’t interract with their fellow models or followers (Can I really call them followers?) and it is a crying shame. I have also seen, recently, models who do try to interract with people, they try to turn this place back into a community. I can name so many people. Fortunately, one of those people is this beautiful woman.
She is a Goddess, she is Aphrodite in human form, and believe me when I say, she could act like it, if she so wanted to, she could demand true fealty, if she so wished, and believe me, I would join so many people in showing her exactly that. Instead, what does she do? She walks among us, fluttering about and offering encouragement. She is a Goddess, amongst humans.
On June 1st, her debut photoset came out, and believe me, I posted quite a long comment, because that’s the sort of shit I do, I overanalyse every fucking thing there is to overanalyse. I will not echo those sentiments on this blog post, because that is overkill. But, let me tell you now, you need to go check out this photoset, it needs to be pink, like, yesterday. Whether she wants it or not, I offer my undying loyalty to her, because she just, is.
Now onto something that I rather ashamedly, have never done before (I suck, I know this.) I always give credit to the photographer whenever I make an artwork, but it is now time I do the same thing in a blog post.
For every piece of art, whether it be through painted or photographed form, there is always an artist. @minuminula is that artist on this occasion. I almost feel a horrendous guilt at never doing a spotlight on the artists who make these photosets possible, so here’s time to redeem myself, as it were. This young woman has an almost supernatural ability to bring out the best of her models. Believe me, if you’ve ever seen any of my botched attempts at taking photos, you’ll know that photography is an art form all of it’s own kind. We can all take shitty selfies complete with all the backgrounds you don’t want (In my case, my bathroom, complete with empty bottles of shampoo and body wash.) But it takes a true artist to make true photography.
I don’t even want to speculate on how long it takes you Minuminula, to get these photos to “publishable” quality, but I’m gonna guess it takes a while, and for that, you have my eternal admiration. I also know it’s an expensive habit, having owned a £300 camera of my own (Yeah, that went wasted too, turns out, expensive cameras don’t actually make you a better photographer if you don’t have talent.)
What you do, young lady, takes talent, and I will say, you have my undying loyalty too.
