...so the perfect night would involve making popcorn and then spooning while listening to the rain outside the window and the occasional screech of tires as cars hydroplane on the flooded street, until she decides to run downstairs to see if any of the cars have crashed and you chase her, skip stones in the gutter until your clothes are soaked, go back upstairs and boil some water for tea, throw the clothes in the washing machine, and bang bang bang on the kitchen floor.

My room is like an oven. I could use that rain just about now.
