i'm not sure about it when people ask questions in their journals. it seems to be a very SG phenomenon, like, "so, what do you think?" and "today's question: what is your favorite food?" i am suspicious of this tactic. do the people really care about the answers, or do they just feel guilty for talking about themselves for a while, and want to trick their friends and readers into thinking it's some kind of 'exchange.' of course my vitriol does not apply to every instance of the question-asking, because i do believe it's probably genuine at times. but for the most part, i'm very suspicious.

Well, i rarely ask questions, but when i do, its about peoples beliefs, which genuinely does interest me. But other than that i don't know i suppose some people do feel guilty for talking about themselves, and some are just interested.
I think its okay to run too, which is what i may do soon. I'll e mail you soon. I love the way you write by the way, I kept checking the link you sent me.

I am very suspicious about them, too. These questions give me the impression that the person is just bored. When I see them popping out of nowhere (no relevant relation with the actual diary issues), I usually do not answer them, even if they come from closer friends.
