The type of anger that I'm feeling right now is the type of anger that results in destruction and looting and lawlessness and revolution.

It's caused by a helplessness brought on by frustration and disgust at government. Both my government at provincial and federal levels and the government in the USA. I'm disappointed in the American people for electing a man like George Bush twice, and I'm disappointed in an American press that was once able to bring down a president, but is only now able to whitewash every horrible thing that happens as a direct result of American meddling or Presidential inaction and reaction. It's almost impossible to believe and it makes me want to scream and throw things and have an all round tantrum. But that wouldn't do any good at all because none of us have any control AT ALL.

That's how close we are to losing all we have, isn't it? When the going gets tough, the government disappears. People have to take matters into their own hands. If I haven't eaten or had much water in a few days and had nowhere to turn, you can bet I'd be breaking into any fucking store I could and take whatever I could. And don't try to fucking stop me. But I'd go further, assuming I survived. Everyone from the President on down would have to provide me with an awful lot of answers, because there would be an awful lot of questions from me, after I got through spitting in every single one of their faces.

That fascist reactionary dictator can spend billions invading a sovereign country under some sort of deceptive guise, but he can't even mobilize his forces to save his own citizens. Spend $100 or $200 or $300 million a day to stay in Iraq, but not approve of $400 million or so to reinforce a dike system that was doomed to fail, given the calibre of hurricanes that have been seen in the last decade. Threaten to punish anyone for price gouging, including those oil multi-nationals, while his pockets are being lined with their money. While he was speaking about it, prices were going up all over the place. Sick, sick, sick.

Here in Manitoba, gas 'only' went up 8 cents a litre, while all across the country they went up about 20 cents. I guess the Manitoba pigs missed the meeting. But as soon as they heard about it on the news about other cities, the prices went up. Now it's at the national average. Those oil execs spew bile everywhere they go, rank, stinky bile.

Two cities have been destroyed, people are starving, dying of thirst, bodies are lying in the streets and the Pig says, I promise you, help is on its way. On its way? On its way? WHY THE FUCK ISN'T IT THERE? WHY WASN'T IT THERE THREE DAYS AGO?

Wow, did any of that make any sense at all?????? I'll have to reread this later and decide whether to delete it.

I moved into my house 16 years ago today. And it could be gone one day, just like that.

Oh yeah. And:

Heart of the Night by Poco

In the heart of the night
In the cool southern rain
There's a full moon in sight
Shining down on the Pontchartrain

And the river she rises
Like she used to do
She's so full of surprises
She reminds me of you
In the heart of the night

There's a nightbird singing
Right on through till the dawn
And the streets are still ringing
With people carrying on

It's been so long waiting
Just to be here again
Anticipating
All the time I could spend
In the heart of the night down in New Orleans
In the heart of the night down in New Orleans

And I trust in your love never falling down
And I trust in your love
Just like I do in this town never falling down

And I'm so glad to be back in New Orleans
Please don't wake me, don't shake me,
If this is only just a dream
It's the only place I can face that feels so right
Below that Dixie moon and loving you
In the Heart of the Night
