...and then, it just went away

We get it on most every night
When that old moon gets so big and bright
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They don't bark and they don't bite
They keep things loose, they keep things light
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feelin' warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You can't dance and stay uptight
It's a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
Everybody's feeling warm and right
It's such a fine and natural sight
Everbody's dancin' in the moonlight

Dancing in the Moonlight (the original version) - King Harvest

That song first came out when I was a little kid. It reminds me of summertime at the lake:

going barefoot all summer, endless swimming, playing board games, playing cards with my grandma, feeding mosquitos and fish flys to dragonflys, playing the nickle crains, laughing with my grandma and my little sister ALL SUMMER LONG.

And Dad driving in to work every morning, and my mother all relaxed, no endless teasing and torturing from my older brothers, ice cream at the Dairy Bee, bonfires every weekend, having to listen to the first moon landing on the radio, searching the ditches for frogs, hanging out at the fishing docks.

Walking down the honey lane after the honeyman (not realizing the honeyman's job was to empty the septic tanks of all their sewage-found that out later), going to the corner store up on the highway to buy penny candies (black balls, three for a penny, green leaves and marshmellow strawberries, two for a penny), and laughing and playing and laughing and laughing. I wish every kid could have memories like that.

How can you not want to dance when you hear the original version of that song? smile smile smile smile

Oh, that sounds lovely...
I have a crap memory, I'm lucky if I can remember what I did last year!
I have never seen a ghost ( or heard, or felt) though apparently the hospital I work in has certain areas where weird shit happens. But I figure i have always been nice to all my patients so they have no reason to come back and haunt me! smile
