DVD sets I received in the mail this week:
The Amazing Race, Season 1
The Naked City, Volume 1
Have Gun - Will Travel, Season 2
Lon Chaney Collection, featuring 'The Ace of Hearts', 'Laugh, Clown, Laugh' and 'The Unknown'
I was supposed to have received the Val Lewton Collection this week, but it has apparently been delayed.
It seems like I won't stop buying...

I woke up a little early today and ended up catching up with some tv shows I had taped. I think I like 'Over There' but it seems sometimes like there is too much good guys-bad guys in it.
I'm still a little bitter about 'Judging Amy' being canceled.

Judging Amy was awesome!
Today I'd like to discuss retail cashiers who feel a need to carry on a conversation with a co-worker or a friend while they're serving you, sort of like you're not really there. Between those types and the miserable ones out there, it's really depressing shopping some days. I guess the fact that the pay isn't great in some of those places gives them the...

I never threw anybody's card at them. If anything, we had the rude customers throw their cards or money at us, as if we were dogs or something. Talk about rude!
Nobody's nice anymore, on either side of the counter. Maybe it's been some time since you've worked retail, but not so long for me. Customers demand more and more, yet they treat you as if you're not fit to wipe their arse, or like a mental midget.
I hate that!

I went to another funeral today. That's now three this year. I guess all my friends parents and the elder people in my family are getting older, aren't they?
My Dad turns 81 on Friday, but I still don't think of him as terribly old, but goodness gracious, it is old. His grandmother on his mother's side lived to be 100. I have a big...

Today was a bit of disaster, then it got much better.
I took the trailer full of junk (mostly old fence board, actually) out to the Landfill, and while I was there, the guy next to me mentioned that one of the tires on the trailer (it's my dad's trailer) looked a little flat. And flat it was. As flat as a flat tire can...

That sucks to get stuck in the dump....but at least mom had some foresight and suggested that you should bring along a spare. Otherwise you'd be stuck with the smelly smell of the dump, for a lot longer than you actually did
Glad the night got better from there for you too!

how's the weather in winnipeg? it. is. cold. here.
I found out today that the dump, sorry, the 'Landfill Site' closes at 4PM on Saturdays. Probably the most used day of the week, and they close it at 4PM. So I have a nice full trailer of junk that has to sit on the street all friggin' night long.

The corn maze was really cool, but I don't like getting lost in those things. It just gets so friggin' annoying after a while. But, eventually, we made our way out, with a little bit of help from Colette79 and nikonjustice who appeared to have zipped through the whole thing, since they went in after us but came out way before us....

At least the maze was decent and you had some people there to help you out! Usually, I have to cheat and make my own path out

I grew up with corn fields to play in, so I dunno about the corn maze vs. the haunted forest excitement. I'm thinking the forest would be very exciting.
I'm finally going to the Corn Maze tomorrow. I've been meaning to go since August, but I kept forgetting. Every other year I've gone has been when it's light out, but we're going tomorrow evening, so it'll be good and dark (they have lights) which will add to the mood I hope. Sometimes when I've gone in the past I've sailed right through the whole...

That corn maze sounds fun. You will have to let me know how it is.
I remember a couple of years ago, some friends and I went to a corn maze at night and we got horribly lost!! We had a great time goofing around and being stupid and trying to find our way out.

There are many days when I absolutely hate this city.
But, in better news, it sounds like I may be in line to get a 10 to 15% increase in my salary. I'll never be motivated to leave if they keep paying me more.

Can you email me more about the corn maze? I'm not sure if Nikonjustice is working or not, but if you're going, I might be up for it. I've never seen it before.

Having slept in really late today, I'm having a chocolate milk right now, along with my regular vitamins. That will be all I eat until Thanksgiving Dinner at 5:00. I might have a banana a little later on, just to take the edge off.

happy thanksgiving.
chocolate milk sounds good i might even have to go get one now. the 5 foot teddy bear never really freaked me out so much as a kid. i used to use him as an escape route or as a ladder alot
I just spent a sinful amount of money shopping today, mostly on DVDs. This may become a dangerous obsession one day. My only intention was to buy the first season of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and some new socks and maybe some shirts. But there were so many things for good prices, I couldn't pass them up. I bought these all today from 4 different stores:...

You watch some pretty cool Tv/Movies. I approve.
By the sounds of it you're the only person I know that I can openly admit to that I love The Brady Bunch.
And uh, there are *cough*70*cough chocolate bars.
I'm hoping it's going to last me a long time. I can't really eat very many right now anyway because I still have a cough from the pneumonia, so I'm not nervous. Yet.
Well if you ever travel to the London, Ontario region you have a place to stay.

Holy that's a lot of siblings.
That's wonderful though that you all live so close together.
I don't get to see my dad as much as I want to, and soon he's moving up tpo North Bay, where as he's just an hour form me now. It'll be nice spending Christmas up there though. That's a lot of pie and ice cream. <g>
Yeah, there's a lot of McDonald's here. ANd the airport is TINY, but about a year ago it actually became an International airport, so we're getting there. For Tim Horton's though, we have about 65 locations here for just 300 000 people. Isn't that insane? I don't even think that counts the locations on the cllege, university, mall and hospital locations. Heh. We like our coffee here in Southwestern Ontario obviously.
Well, I'm proud to say I've still only had five of the chocolate bars.....that'll probably go be a few more later, but I'm feeling confident about it. <g>
The Brady Bunch rocks. I can never decide who I love most, but usually it's Marsha. <g>
Have a nice Turkey Day.

Okay, it's time for my Friday night movies, but this time not at the lake. Tonight it's the original 'Planet of the Apes' followed by 'Beneath the Planet of the Apes'. That's if I can stay awake.

LMAO, you thought that at your aunt's funeral? LMAO.....oh man. That is completely the kind of thing that I've done in the past.
Yes, it's ass cold here. SO cold I actually purchased my first pair of flannel jammies ever while I was at the mall this morning after work. It wasn't until I got home that I realized the pattern on them was of cats! I just grabbed my size and favourite colour and hiked it out of there. So, I got mine back. I shalt not make funneth of yon Winnipegians again.
The cats, well, sometimes. It's a vindictive thing. Merlyn was actually quite ill this past summer, and he nearly didn't make it. He would vomit up to eight or nine times a day, but a lot of that was the fact he was sick, and also because my former roommate used to kick the crap out of him when I wasn't home. (It's a long story) Now, with Stumbleine he is happier than a clam, and rarely gets sick unless he eats human food. EXCEPT for when I work on the weekends, b/c then Stumbleine is gone as well back home with her boyfriend. Sigh. It's a total "screw you mom, i'll show you what happens when you leave me all alone here all night." heh. Loki retaliates by destroying the kleenex or bathroom tissue, and they all run in circles and cause a general nuisance when I walk in the door. Knock books, and stuff off of tables. This morning my hand blender was on the floor from it't case on top of the fridge. Ya. I'm used to it. Little assbags.
Anyway, I'm babbling now, I talk a lot when I'm tired. Many apologies. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family. Pie and ice cram sounds yummy. I am jealous, but I shalt not poke fun in retaliation. I'l just.....make mashed potatoes and smile while I eat them. Have a safe drive.

I notice a gaping absence from your DVD purchases... No Big Bro seasons???
Amazing Race, season 1... was that the one with "Team Guido" and their matching outfits? MAN, those two made me CRRRAZY. I used to be so psycho about AR... I'd shout at the tv and get upset when the episode ended. Such good tv.
I hope you are well, Sweets. I miss our chats. Hopefully I'll be back online sooner than later.
I loved those NYers. I have mad love for NY boys and their out-spoken-ness(?)... Not to mention those cute accents.
