that is not a good situation. Could be worse though, a friend of mine had a house he was renting out, the tenants eventually stopped paying at all and after a few months of squatting left the house completely trashed. Took him ages to clean up and not sure if he got any money back.

See? This is freaky. I swear that you and your fiancee are like... the East Coast version of me and my fiance. We also want to be near water, on the West Coast.
