I'm in my third week of my new job. It's going well, but the training pay sucks and I won't get my first pay check until a week from Friday. Most of what I'm doing now is classroom training. It's not bad, but it's boring. I'm ready to get back out in the field and make some real money next week!
The pay should be really good once I start getting commission (which should happen next week). I've got to catch up on my bills first and foremost, but after that I should be rolling in the cash pretty good. I hope.
Benefits are great. I was given the info on the supplemental insurance today and I'll be getting most of that (accident, short term disability, and possible the cancer policy). All three will cost me about $50/paycheck. Total health (dental, vision, medical) will cost me about $60/paycheck. For around $100 I'll be pretty well covered for just about everything. I'll have to make the decision whether I want all that soon. Oh, and the prices will go down every year, not up.
I'll get my first week of vacation after six months. When my first year rolls around I'll get a week again. Two to four years will be two weeks and five years will be three.
Things are looking good in the job department. I was issued my work van Saturday so I'm not wasting my own gas going back and forth to work.
Hopefully in the next sixth months to a year I'll be looking very good financially.
Other aspects of life could be better, but oh well. I'll take what I can get right now, and right now that's money.
