Hey dudes, dudettes, bros, broettes, peeps...well everyone lol. Happy new year to yous all, hope it’s a good one for yous all. Unfortunately the holiday season is almost over and it’s back to business as usual for some. Not me since I’m unemployed for now, this year maybe? who knows. Not rushing it, one step at a time.
This blog is something I did a year ago but nobody liked it and I was new to blogging and SG in general but I know the site now and I have more followers now. Mostly because I share my favourite sets & models cause yeah. I love doing those blogs but I like my more casual ones like these ones. Which is about my music and the tunes I listen to. I fucking love music, it’s one of the keys to help me cope with my depression, loneliness, isolation, anxiety, etc that I’ve been going through the last over 10 years now since I left college in 2006 (man I feel old & I’m 31 lol). Music is basically therapy for the soul. Helps cope with the harsh world. Just like films, tv, books, video games, exercise, etc does. While social media, the news, some YouTube videos, etc makes us feel like shit, angry, depressed, etc...well for me it does.
The only time I use YouTube is to listen to my tunes since I don’t have a CD player, well not yet. I do want one since tbh I hate YouTube and especially dislike these YouTubers who love drama & being complete (excuse my french) fucking cunts. I mean idk why their popular and I don’t care. I just avoid it as I think their a bunch of comedian wannabes who aren’t funny. Wow I’m turning this into a rant am I lol. Anyway back on topic, apologies!
So basically music helps me cope. So here’s some of my favourite tunes I’m currently listening to. Hope you like it. First one is from one of my favourite bands....
Opeth is such an awesome band. Love their mixture of death metal and progressive rock rolled into one (insert ur weed puns here lol). Their last four albums or so their more a progressive rock band now and I like their better for it cause their so good. This song from their album Blackwater Park is the first clean song they’ve done. They were mostly a death metal band around that time in 2001 when Blackwater Park was released. Such a cracking album and this song was the best tune from it. 🤘🏻
I love everything about this song. Haunting and beautiful. Feels so atmospheric every time I put it on. This is one of the songs on the Constantine soundtrack, which is imo an underrated film starring Keanu Reeves & Rachel Weisz based on the DC comic. I never read much comics tbh, apart from a few Deadpool & Spider-Man ones cause I love both of them. But definitely need to get into the Constantine comics and the tv show too which I hear is cancelled. Hope I’m wrong but the film is good. Got flaws but it’s still enjoyable to watch. And listening to A Perfect Circle too, their one of my favourite bands. So good. Listen to this song so many times now and I’m never bored. Always a joy to listen to.
This is an instrumental but a bloody awesome one. This is a shoegaze metal/rock band from France who are so awesome. This is from their amazing album Les Voyages De Láme and it’s so hauntingly beautiful. It makes you feel ur in another world that’s magical and full of wonder. And ur exploring that world on a adventure. It’s pretty dope. Such a talented band. Definitely give Alcest a listen!! 🤘🏻
A tragic love story with this song but a great one. Love the music video too. It’s basically of two ladies in short time became BFFs but it turn out to be not forever. Which I can relate to. I had past friendships that ended on bad terms. So much so that I don’t remember them at all. Like in the song “they passed into another distant part of my memory. Until I could no longer remember there face, there voice, even there names” in the way it’s for the best since they hurt me a lot mentally. But in this song it’s more tragic since the two females in the story of this song seem to love one of other and just like that it’s gone to one moving to another town while the other is left behind. Alone. For me that’s heartbreaking. No one should deal with that. Films like 500 Days Of Summer & even Wreak It Ralph 2 strangely enough has the same type of storyline too of best friends or lovers drifted apart because of something. And that’s why this song imo is a true masterpiece. I always love Steven Wilson’s stuff. His solo work or his ex band Porcupine Tree. He’s such a talented songwriter and musician. He knows how to write & play emotional but beautifully awesome songs. Definitely recommend his stuff. A true masterpiece of music imo. Check it out!!
This is an hidden song on Papa Roach’s hit album Infest. Which is a massive seller and everyone still listens to it to this day. So many great tunes from this album like everyone’s favourite Last Resort, Between Angels & Insects, Broken Home, etc there’s a lot to choose from. My favourites are actually not those songs. Mine’s are Snakes, Dead Cell, Binge and this song which is on the Thrown Away track & it’s an hidden one. Idk why cause it’s superb. It’s my favourite Papa Roach song. Love the line “We are the future the 21st century dyslexic, glue sniffing cyber sluts, With homicidal minds and handguns” which is still true to recent events. That’s why positive vibes are important to stop negativity to the ones that are feeling negative. Now I don’t have the answers to the problems but I feel that if a person is being negative, think it’s because their life is negative or ppl are being negative to them you know. That’s why a lot of bad things are happening cause their either brought up on a lie or being pushed around too much to the point of no return. It’s pretty sad state of affairs and I think this song is a perfect song that states that. We are all unbalanced on our own tightrope but we can be balanced. Never say never and it’s not blue & gloom. Keep a level head and be positive. Good things comes to the ones who want it. Don’t think you want it, know it & do good. 👍🏻
Ok last but not least something more upbeat lol. I know it was a bit depression in my last ones but I think it’s important to talk about cause I’m all about mental health awareness as my buddy @xheartswornx says in his blogs. And he does these music blogs too & are awesome too, check it out if any of yous haven’t. In one of them he put up one of the songs from Social Distortion. Who are so superb. Love these dudes, great punk rock. Love how catchy and upbeat it is. Even though it’s about tough times & that but yous suffer enough emo depression shit in this blog haha. Anyway it is an awesome gem that makes you feel joyful & nostalgic. Fucking awesome!!
Anyway that’s another blog done. I hope you enjoy it. Thought it’ll be awesome to do. I like to mix it up instead of just showing off my favourite SG sets & models all the time. Even though they always do well and ppl love them. I do too and they’ll be another one coming sooner than later. Working on it. I love doing these blogs for yous and thanks again for all the support. I do appreciate it and yous are the best.
