Every inch of my body aches. blackeyed

70 total hours worked this week. blackeyed

The resturant/part-time job was superbusy for the holiday. I made more money working it than the full-time job in a week!!! And now I'm going to punch a baby in the faise.

I need a haircut.

I've been due for the dentist for months.

Almost got killed leaving work at 1am. I exited the offramp, went to turn and some douchebag runs the red light. If I hadn't seen him, it would've been ugly.

Progress towards paying off my car:

How did I get to this juncture?

I don't see what being a grown man has to do with it. I know you don't have kids, but if you did and one of them was in a post-op coma in Ohio after having the 7th or so shunt she's had in her head become infected, I'm pretty sure you'd do what you had to to go there. It's not like I'm made of money. I spend all but 120 dollars a month that I bring home from my day job keeping up a house that's way beyond my means so my 82 year old mother doesn't have to be committed (we're trying to arrange her moving to Virginia where there's more family than just me to look after her, but that will be later this year - and then I should have a little more money) - and I work in dialysis NOT for the money - I made as much at Home Depot. There are other reasons. My music is how I can afford to eat. Sometimes. Sadly, having no time to sell some stocks or anything I had to sell my amp for airfare, so I likely won't be doing much music when I get back. I have no family money or anything to back me up. I'm backing up my mother.

This is why I am in Ohio broke. I am never broke. However, since my stepdaughter may die, I couldn't help but think that may just be the most important thing at the moment. Sure, I'm a grown man, but if this grown man blew it off and she died just because I didn't have easy money or whatever - I'd feel a lot worse than I do right now.

However, I came in 2nd in a karaoke contest last night and walked away with 50 bucks, so I filled the tank of the girl that's been kind enough to drive me a bit and buy me coffee, and my ex-mother-in-law is driving me back to Ocala when/if Cass' condition stabilizes. At this point, she's stable, in that there's still no change.

Again, how does being a grown man play into this? If anyone else in my shoes DIDN'T do what they had to, THEN I might question their manhood. It's instinct.

Oh, and your carloan thing is awesome.smile

hehe. That's the 'funny' thing. The day before her emergency surgery I tried to pay my cellphone bill and freaking Boostmobile's servers were down, si I \ended up with my phone off. So I got to Ohio with no way to easily call around and find anyone. My ex was her emergency contact (she lives in Florida) and I had way to contact her. I knew no one. Thanks to the good cop who knew her friend that gave me the key to my SD's apartment I had that, but she doesn't live IN Columbus. That's more of the problem. She's in a suburb outside the city. So there's transport back and forth. There's no one IN Columbus that anyone knows except my SD, and although my ex-mom-in-law called my ex's cell a few minutes ago (I'm with my ex at a bar/restaurant after dinner using her laptop now) and said my SD opened her eyes a couple times in 10 minutes biggrin, she has been in no condition to to give out phone numbers, being in a coma and all.

Anyway, they told Mom they think the coma was induced by a reaction to the anaesthesia, not head-trauma from the surgery or from the infection, so odds are increasing that she'll be coming back fully.smile

I hope. But I'm still scared. I've seen way too much.frown Ask your Dad. I'm sure he's seen people he thought were near fully recovered do a 180 as well as those who seemed hopelss suddenly recover. One never knows.
