it's hard. she's not really "messing up" with him, she just feels like she is because she feels like she's never really had anyone interested in her before and she thinks he might be.

I don't think it's so much that she's sick of her classes, although she hates botany, but that she's unhappy with the environment. she's putting a major effort into her work because she wants to be a physical therapist.

and as much as your purpose is to get a decent education, there really should be more there. it's not just about education.
