Today.

I had a pretty good day today. Went grocery shopping, which was interesting... I think there were old men doing the old-man-shuffle passing me in the aisles.

I heard Cherub Rock on the way home from the store & that made me very happy. It changed my whole mood & woke me up from this.

I thought back to when a boy named Ben made me a tape. This tape had Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream on one side & Counting Crow's August & Everything After on the other.

I remember the day I first listened to the SP side. It was a summer day & I was building & painting a shelf for my new fish tank, a fish tank I had bought from Ben actually. Spaceboy came on & I decided to layed down for a rest. I stared up at the trees swaying gently in the breeze, seemingly to the beat, up against the cloudless sky. No one was around & the whole world stood still. At that very moment no one else exsisted by me.

And on my drive home I thought of how great & peaceful that day was. How great that summer was. The songs from that cd always bring me back to that great day & that great summer. That really was a great year too.

I have this feeling now. A feeling that it is up to me to make this year as great as that one was. That I can make it happen, one day at a time.

I was happier than Id ever been...
