I had to put Miss Belle to sleep today. She was not going to get better. She was horribly uncomfortable.

They said they would bring her to me after the injection, that she would be awake for 3 or so minutes & that I could hold her while she passed. But, she died immediately & when she was brought back to the room she was already gone. I wish I would have been there for the injection... I thought I had time... I am so so sorry Belle.

But, she was such a little trooper. She tried to stay with me, she tried to get better, she really did & to the last moment she was alert & seemingly content... she was even begging for the little kitty snacks in the office right before, so I let her have some until she was satisfied.

That little girl had spirit that I haven't seen in any human (except my son).

I miss her already.

This is how sweet sweet Miss Belle will always be remembered by me...









It was so cute, even when she was so sick today, she would still do the kitty smile to me... you know how kitties squint their eyes at you when you talk to them? Well, she did that earlier today & was alert & watching me tidy the living room... and she was purring while she ate today too & she was begging for tuna tuna tuna too.

It is just so amazing how much she wanted to stay here with me & my boy, I know she was not ready to go... she wanted more time to sleep on the couch & more time to look out the window & more time to chase after nats & more time to obsessively groom herself. It is just too bad.

I looked for a pix where she was doing that smiling thing she does. I found this one. She liked to get her pix taken because she liked to be the center of attention...
