Let's take a poll, shall we?

After a discussion about my current status of crazed, my friend has suggested that the male gender "freaks out" the same way that the female gender does. I don't believe this is true. I think there is something very feminine about jumping to conclusions and worrying about small things that most likely the other person hasn't even thought about....

driftspace:
I'm going to have to agree with some of the guys on this page; when you fall hard for someone it's bound to happen. Fairly recently I had some interactions with someone which resulted in some of the very same feelings you are going through. We were e-mailing 3-4 times a day in the beginning; she called me every day to say "good morning, I miss you," and now we don't really e-mail anymore. At first it was really hard for me and I went through all the same thoughts: "does she not like me anymore?" "is she becoming less interested?" I lost sleep over a lot of little things: things she said she'd do and didn't do; things she said she'd include me in but didn't.

There were other parts -- big, important parts -- to the puzzle which, in the momentary delirium of early love, I did not account for. We still talk every day and things have calmed down quite a bit. That first stage of being in-love (all love begins as infatuation) can be difficult, but once you start to come out of it everyone's true feelings become a little more obvious. Either the infatuation blooms into love, or you end up with something else. Time is, once again, the answer to your problem; it will reveal everything.

Waiting for it can be awful.

The only way she and I got past it -- and it almost tore us apart completely -- was to have a series of open discussions about it, and those were really difficult discussions to have. Eventually we were able to figure out what was happening, but it was only after we were both willing to admit and face the reasons behind our respective behaviors. It was a humbling and exhausting few weeks, but I think we respect and understand each other a lot more.

GangstaSwan suggested that you find something to keep you busy, and that is a really good suggestion. One of the things that played a role in the way our relationship went was the fact that I had just lost my job and my band in the same month, and spent a lot of time sitting at home, depressed, on the internet, thinking about her, waiting for her to call...

Then again, like Heracleitus said, I've had every indication that I'm not a "typical guy." The bottom line is that you are either in love or are headed straight for it, and it's really scary to face that and not know what the other person is feeling.

You'll make it through, whatever happens; I was just in that same place.

Is it just becase I'm a girl? Or is it just because I'm just naive or inexperienced? Or maybe because I care too much? Should I be more indifferent?

well, fuck. there are actually more important things to think about at this moment. Why should I fucking care about this when worse things are happening to my friends?

Ok it's time for a new laptop.

Please tell me your feelings about Mac vs. PC.

I'm looking at a MacBook Pro but I'd prefer the 13-inch instead of 15-inch. What's the difference between a standard 15 inch MacBook Pro and getting all the add-ons of a 13-inch? Is there something that I wouldn't be able to add?

I realize I could just go to...

Hahaha, oh my life is such a bummer. In the sense that if it were a tv show it would probably fall under the category of "attempt at a prime time sitcom that could possibly have potential but would be cancelled after 5 episodes."

It's back to business as usual, proving again that a weeks worth of excitement and anticipation is not enough to make...

I play that entire album all the time. That song is one of the most cathartic songs I have in my entire music collection right now, second only to a random song by a friend of a friend called What Never Was (available on her myspace page).

You might want to check out Emily Haines' solo project if you haven't already. (myspace page)

I took a quiz this morning to see if I am a compulsive buyer...turns out I am. I really could have just told myself that but I just wanted to check by answering obvious questions on the internet.

"They" say that compulsive buying is a disorder and addiction much like alcoholism and smoking cigarettes. "They" say I am trying to fulfill a need - or...

Most of the time I just can't even find the words to express how I'm really feeling. When I do have the words I'm not in a place where I can commit it to paper. Right now I am supposed to be watching American Splendor but I can't even concentrate on that. I heard from a friend that multi-tasking actually eliminates brain cells because your...
