. . .so just when I thought this summer was gonna be completely barren for shows, I find out about 3 yestderday (right before running my ass down to Cone Island for Siren Fest, where Monotonix were crunk as fuck, and Future of the Left and A Place To Bury Strangers absolutely killed.
(I saw Built to Spill too, but I was pretty tired by then)

Marduk are attempting another US tour. . . . . . . . hope that works out better than the one they were supposed to stop at MDF on (apparently, it completely fell apart and Mayhem ended up doing the rest of the tour alone).
They're playing with Tombs and Black Anvil.

best line-up so far this year that wasn't MDF.

Fall is looking pretty awesome for shows too. Good lineups, on good nights.
(and Jesus Lizard playing on a Monday. . . . but, I can probably get those two days off. . like I did for MBV last year.)

Polvo are playing at the end of the month at another free show.
Augury got put on a good show later on in the year (read: one that does not have Abigail Williams on it. . . . .what's with them anyway? They're on every fucking tour. yeesh. It's either them or Winds of Plague you gotta deal with. I blame Revolver.)


.. . .and that's the only good shit going on, as per usual.
everything else is far too similar to "gran has lost her mind, acts like she has tourettes and won't eat anything" and "5% pay cut at already sucky job" and "gonna be at the doctor every weekend getting allergy shots" and totally awesome shit like that.
