what is this stifling of my soul?
feels like a partial death, maybe a hibernation
when an expressionist has nothing to say.
haven't written anything more than independent lines in months.
i'm on a plain i guess. nothing's wrong, that's just all there is; nothing going on.
maybe i should book the Rebirth of Kloi Terra show just so i have something to work toward...

yeah sure they're hot.
hot as compared to obviously not hot.
and all i'm thinking is 'my girlfriend is hotter'
perhaps my eyes are biased.
perhaps they're not.
everyone i know tells me i deserve it, if anyone does,

So i went back to chicago yesterday morning on a plane. jackie's mom picked me up at the airport and took me to her house, where i met her dogs and her little sister. wasn't really awkward, just a situation where you find yrself on yr best behavior. her mom reminds me of my mom a little bit.
then she dropped me off at my...

Festivals.
sitting on a blanket, no shirt, no breeze, sweating yr ass off, the solid beginnings of a serious sunburn, kinda tripping, not enjoying the cigarette very much, sitting through shitty bands while you wait for one you like.
People look pretty familiar at any of these..
what made this one Lollapalooza? Grant Park, Chicago.
Huge, and between big bands, there was a mass exodus...

thursday august 3, and i'm Chicago bound to see
some of my favorites i've not seen before
and some i've seen many times
Lollapalooza - Ween, Queens of the Stone Age, Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips, Manu Chao, Peeping Tom, Perry Farrell, and a few others i'm excited to see...beautiful, verdant islands amidst a sea of empty-image-fueled-emo-pop; energy wasted by using it as sound... BUT..that's my...

should be illegal to be this hot out!
every day is a walking shower
simmering in my own gravy
and cursing the sun
as i search for cool air.
thursday will bring some refreshment
a halfway point rendezvous
for some time together.
quality.
on friday, all the others haven't a chance.
they'll all be invisible.
and i'll be smiling.

its a frightening thought for years
like deep open water or the middle of a vast desert.
its a forever something.
its not very often that you find something like this.
something you want to see every day
and you have to make it,
but it's never a chore.
it's her smile
and it has become my art.
