a day off,
doing the only thing i can afford to do other than go to work; clean house.
found a bread crumb, an undated fragment of the past.
yellow lined paper means its pre-march '06,
content tells me it's from a hungover-at-work day.
there's no title, but in the top right corner in block caps:
ARBITRARY
SUPERFICIAL
MONETARY
FAKE

So theres not much sunshine to dance in anymore
the gray season is upon us,
earth is and we are all gray and sensitive;
mushrooms.
cold short and dark just like the days
another birthday, just another number and some free drinks
pharmaceutical chrondo and a twenty dollar sack of shit; the spectrum
so much, so little time, need more hours, years go fast, days...

That's a very interesting dream. I don't know which way to interpret it since it was your dream...
And I do agree with you. I'm not trying to push off anything as final. I'm doing what needs to be done.
And as much as I think I want to wait, it has become a benefit to me, like all things. I now have time to be realistic about moving out. Saving. Making a plan. It actually does make me want to wait.
Sometimes I can be such a Taurus. Haha.

"Love's Not the Way to Treat a Friend"
Love's not the way to treat a friend.
I wouldn't wish that on you. I don't
want to see your eyes forgotten
on a rainy day, lost in the endless purse
of those who can remember nothing.
Love's not the way to treat a friend.
I don't want to see you end up that way

New Orleans is always an incredible experience for me. Like a certain spot on jack's fork river in southern missouri or the pacific ocean, it provides sort of a spiritual cleansing; a baptism.
as usual, the stay in the quarter involved a lot of walking, admiration, spending more money than expected on good food and lots of drinks. one night even extended into full-on-flat-out-whiskey-dick-berserker drunkenness.....

I figured out why SG looked so fucked up for me...for some reason, IE had the pop-up blocker on and when I turned it off, everything was fixed. Now I can see the changes they've made.
Nighttime, and i was in a somewhat familiar downtown of a large city. From the middle of the street I stared up at her apartment listening to a song she had written. I had my kick drum with me and i set it down in the street just as some dude on a bicycle rolled up on me from behind and nearly knocked me down....

I had this dream last night...
I took you to my Grandpa's house in the city. While there, a lot of that side of the family was also there, but there was no real party. You and I sat outside in the spring weather. I was explaining to you about my family, the change of the neighborhood and how certain places face gentrification while this one became the new "ghetto." I looked up and noticed my grandmother walk from the inside of the house to a buffet she set up at the side of the street. I knew she was dead in my dream, but I also accepted the fact that she was here, walking around. She was feeding the neighbors, taking care of them and looking out for their well-being. Some people were peaceful and thankful of her actions, while there were others just taking beyond what they needed with no remorse. She didn't react one way or another, but went inside and left the buffet table outside for people take what they want.
I went inside (you kinda just fell off the dream at this point) and noticed certain members of my family sitting around and talking about how my grandmother was a fool for doing this for the neighbors. As I left to grab some fruit from the table outside, everyone asked me to get something from them. Frustrated, I think told them to get it for themselves (I can't remember, but I think I spoke up.) I walked out and grabbed what I wanted. I tried to find my grandmother to thank her, but she was gone.
I know exactly what this dream meant for me. It's not very bizarre, but now I feel like there's more for me to do to help, especially with my grandpa.

work.
i've said about it enough here that it would be annoying to hear more about it.
even if only one other person is the only one who reads it.
i guess there's nothing more to say.
coworker.
if you haven't anytihing nice to say about someone, then don't say anything.
i believe in that, even if, especially if it means saying something so shitty...

You're a hard worker. You show up, do beyond what is expected of you, and prove to yourself that you're not just trying to look busy. Obviously.
You'll move onto more important things soon. If you can give it to a "dead end" job, you can give it to this opportunity in Emporia. And I'll love to be there.

20 days until i see her again --
in new orleans; when i'm there, i'm in love,
even if i weren't already with her
i would be in 20 days.
i'll take some pictures.

went to lawrence tonight to see MALACHY PAPERS at the Jackpot saloon. showed up waay too early, and as i was standing outside having a smoke and wondering how to kill the time, Mike Dillon comes walking up. he knows me. after 12 years of being my biggest, most direct musical inspiration and having seen me and approached by me at countless shows from BillyGoat...

So we met for a weekend in Cedar Rapids Iowa again and had a lovely time.
Cobwebs abound in the town, never seen anything like it. In all the windows and tangled along the rafters and the raliings;
even 14 stories up, yet i didn't see a spider.
we ate ethnic foods in the whitest or wonderbread towns, we drank mexican beers.

I must agree with you. Even the way it looks in this computer-generated font, Dauphine is a beautiful name.
its almost embarrassing to admit just how devastating it is when yr computer crashes.
thankfully, after the Crash of 2004, 28 year old me did the responsible thing and bought the extended warranty on the new machine- saved 30 year old me a bunch of money.

I would love to plan November's trip. What can be better than a trip to New Orleans with you by my side?
I also look forward to next week where I get to be with you live and in the flesh! Oh snap.
Yes, so much to look forward to...it's bliss.
