Wow, I have been busy lately. Trying to start a new biz while working at an old one I am beginning to hate, taking care of a new-ish baby, and also working with editors on an upcoming book leaves me little time to update things here. I have been spending a lot of time on the book with the hope that its publication will provide a little financial breathing room for me so I can give up the 9-5 (or in my case 8:30-7:00) work-a-day world forever.
I was beginning to think I was just chronically dissatisfied with working. However, I am beginning to realize it ISN'T just me. The two managers where I work now are just dicks, and the guy I worked with before just went into the hospital to deal with severe OCD that had spiraled out of control. What I had attributed to a problem on my part is now starting to look like a series of unlucky carreer choices.
That said, I do have job wanderlust, but really it is overall wanderlust filtering through to my work. In reality, I would like to travel around and see odd and wonderful things.
A good friend of mine told me, "you think your life shouldn't be a boring, conventional exercise, but your wrong. Life is a series of boring conventional events. Life is sitting on your couch, doing nothing, wondering how you got there." I disagree. We all have the opportunity to do what we want, but we have to be brave enough to do it.
Wow, that reads like a self-help book. Maybe I should have gone with non-fiction.
