Don't you think that sex should be a casual thing ? Don't you wish that you could go to someone and just say: "look, I am very much attracted to you but I don't wanna talk about crap for hours/days/weeks and before I ask you what's your favourite film, could we have sex first if you so desire too, so that afterwards we would know if it's worth going to the process of knowing each other ?" And then you would be told "OK" or get a frank laugh followed by a "go fuck yourself, not in a thousand years" kind of reply. In any case, it would be clear.
So don't get me wrong, I am not being your typical man that only wants to get laid and who only thinks about girls as objects of personal gratification. I have the utmost respect for women. What I mean is that everybody's life would be so much easier if centuries of christian brain-washing hadn't made the fact of having sex something exceptional/forbidden. It is not. It can be mind-blowing but also very dull.
What's your view on this ? I'd really like to know

a double sided coin. On the one hand, perhaps puritanical ideals
have ruined that sense of open intimacy, as you said. Or mabye
it's created a graeter sense of eroticism. Look at the Victorian era
as an example. the intense social restriction imposed on those people
made then more fully able to appreciate their private time, if you know
what I mean. From my experience, the one thing that men and women
always have in common is that they both want everything. The confusing
part is finding common ground in want. Sometimes the struggle is more
erotic than the consumation.
