So.
I'm home.
This has been a crazy week.
While everyone was off getting drunk at the SG Prom, I was flying to NYC to see my favorite band Silverchair. It was un-fucking-believable. We sat outside in the hot sun all day and then had to stand inside for two hours before the 'chair came out... IT WAS SO WORTH IT. As soon as they hit the stage, everything washed away and all I could do was watch them and soak up the music. Feel the bass in my bones. Daniel is a fucking genius. Their onstage presence has changed a lot and every song was about eight minutes long because of all the extra refrains and all the jamming... like Dan playing the guitar with his teeth or doing ballerina twirls around the stage.
All my pictures are here.
So that went on for two nights, and then I missed my plane so I had to spend the night in the airport.
Finally got home on Thursday, and then on Friday I met up with some friends to go the Gorge & the Sasquatch Festival. All the canyons are GORGEOUS. I saw so many good bands... I loved every minute of it. The Flaming Lips were hilarious and a bunch of the festival musicians dressed up in animal costumes and danced around the stage.
I was not prepared at all for Coldplay... they were amazing! It's been a long time since I've been to a real concert. With all the laser lights spanning across the audience and everything... it was so cool. Out of like the 5 songs Liz Phair played, she did both the songs my friend & I wanted her to do. And I actually got really into Jurassic 5, which I didn't expect.
Anyway, we drove back to our side of the mountains after camping out and having all our pot confiscated (the hussy security guard was trying to be all tough... "You either give this to us or to the County"... ). But oh well... and we used my Burning Man tent. Such memories. Lots of playa dust inside.
I start my new job on Tuesday!
