I'm excited to say that I have two days left working at Sephora and hawking makeup to the masses. After a year plus of waking up at 5 am to drive to Santa Monica to process shipment and clean up our store, I needed to make a change. So, starting Monday, I will be employed full time at SuicideGirls!
I will continue to answer your help requests and password resets and just general questions but I also get to help out with special projects and events, and assist @missy and @lyxzen with whatever they need me to do. I've been working part time in the office (about once a week) since last May and I am thrilled that they have faith in me to be a full time help!
I've been a member of SG since 2004. Some of you guys were just kids. I found the site off livejournal because someone posted this exact picture of @quinne
I was a quiet member for the first few months but I really took to the site to the point where it was the first thing I checked on the computer in the morning, and even a couple times a day. Remember when sets went up twice a day? I was on the east coast so they would go up at 9 am and 9 pm. I do miss two sets a day, but it's nice that everyone gets their time up on the front page. It took me a couple of years before I decided to apply. Sometimes I wish I had done it sooner, because maybe I would've shot more, or had the chance to have more than one set up. But for me it was never about turning pink, like that was the be all, end all of my life. I liked the meet ups, the Burlesque shows (I went to one in Boston in 2005 and met @reagan and @chloe, I went to one in Hartford in 2006 for that second tour that had Reagan and I think Razzi, and now I've been to two in LA for the Blackheart Burlesque!), the events in Ohio, and tattoo conventions. I did so much as a hopeful that it didn't even matter if I was ever an actual SG.
When I did finally go pink in 2009, I was pretty surprised. To be honest, I'm still surprised. I'm a goofy weirdo, who is the opposite of a model, who thinks the idea of a good picture is me wrapped around in a blanket flopping around on the floor like a burrito (slight exaggeration). I'm happy that @missy saw something in me. I'm happy that @alissa saw something in me and shot sets for me. I'm happy that I have gotten the chance to meet tons of ladies who I can count as my friends and I can talk to them daily, or monthly, or every so often and still feel connected even though we live across the country.
Take this site for what it can be. Not every thing is going to go your way, but if you have faith that it can be what you want it to be, that will happen. Don't be afraid to take a chance and don't be afraid to walk away when you know you aren't getting the best in a situation. And really, just remember to take a couple minutes out of the day and enjoy the boobs. Because that's what you came here for anyway, isn't it?
