Sometimes I do get to escape and have fun. Last Monday we went to Nantucket overnight. The excuse was for the boy to hang up stuff for volunteers for the film festival which he works for that's in a few weeks. It was absolutely beautiful out, warm and sunny, very different from my first trip to Nantucket back in February.
We took the tiny plane in, had delicious lunch, wandered around the downtown area and bought chocolate covered cranberries to take home and smoothies. Had dinner with his dad who lives there year round and spent the night in one of the properties his dad takes care of in Tom Nevers.
I took those off the second floor porch in the morning before we got doughnuts at the Downyflake and jumped back on the plane in order to make it back to work in the afternoon.
I can't wait to go back, though I know it will be different again since all the summer crowd will be there.
