Watched The Machinist last night. Holy fucking shit, Christian Bale! Why do that to yourself? This movie could be the cure for anorexia, methinks.
It reminds me of the story when Hoffman was working on Marathon Man with Laurence Olivier. Hoffman kept from sleeping shy of 80 hours in prep for his scene. Olivier just looked at him and said, "Dear boy, have you tried just acting?"
