me: my friend got arrested for smoking pot. he was already on probation and they might kick him out of school. he was clean for like two years, and the first time be broke it, he got caught.
her: that sucks: he's really stupid for doing that.

her: (interrupts) my car started acting weird tonight.

me: he is a great guy and he helped me understand a few things...
her: (interrupting again) it started pulling to one side.
me: oh, hmm. good thing you are on a lease.
me: (thinking) why the hell did i ever think i wanted to date you?
