Quick, go look at yourself in a mirror and smile without showing your teeth. Which side of your face shows more emotion? It's pretty easy to tell; look at the corners of your mouth. We talked about this in psychology today, and I'm curious.
Allow me to illustrate:
I always wondered why I appear to sneer so often when people take pictures, but my no-teeth smile is just crooked. My professor's theory was that the right side of your face should show more emotion, as the left side of the brain is more connected with positive emotion. He watched us throughout the rest of the class, and I'm the only one that lead with my left. But I'm right handed, so he determined that my "face is unusual."
Right on. We also discussed eye movement in relation to thought processes, and I was interested. Being told to think of something musical, all of our eyes went upward and to the left. Neat.
