Only one more day of driver's ed to go... what a relief. I spend a great deal of time at driver's ed admiring the cute, skinny, shaggy-haired emo boys. They entertain me. But I think they think I stare at them too much and then they get a bit weirded out and look away suddenly... maybe I do.
I have a staring problem, I think.
I don't know if any of you have read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I personally think it is a great book. It is written in a somewhat simple and choppy format, though. It's not like "complex" reading, in fact, it's a pretty easy read... so I guess a lot of people aren't very impressed when I mention it to them, but there are so many great parts in that book. One of them talks about Charlie's sister's boyfriend. He makes mixed tapes as presents for Charlie's sister. One of the tapes was an "autumn mix," and he drew and colored leaves on the sleeve. The tape contained many songs by The Smiths, including my favorite, "Asleep." Charlie said that this song was HIS favorite as well, and he said that when he listened to it, it made him feel infinite. And that is exactly how I feel when I listen to that song. So that whole dealy inspired me to start recording an autumn mix last night... a mixed tape, that is. Mixed tapes are a lost art form. And maybe I will give it to someone special if the mood strikes me. I will most definitely share the playlist when I have completed the tape.
I was without my computer for a whole day and I felt as though my world was crashing down around me. It had a virus and my mom had to send it to the shop to get repaired... but alas, now it is back, safe and sound in my dining room (that is never used for dining). *hugs computer...* Never again, my love...
There was something else I wanted to say but now I've lost it. Eh.
It makes me sad when people forget about you.
A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetery gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetery gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
While Wilde is on mine
So we go inside and we gravely read the stones
All those people, all those lives
Where are they now?
With loves, and hates
And passions just like mine
They were born
And then they lived
And then they died
It seems so unfair
I want to cry

crushjunkie:
Would you like to swap mixed 'tapes'? I can make a fall compilation that might not make you feel infinite, but it can give you a pretty good sense of the space around you. I have lots of cool, obscure stuff like that. Laters.
