I listen to Modest Mouse all the fucking time now. Listen to "The World at Large."

I like songs about drifters - books about the same
They both seem to make me feel a little less insane
Walked on off to another spot
I still haven't gotten anywhere that I want
Did I want love? Did I need to know?
Why does it always feel like I'm caught in an undertow?

The moths beat themselves to death against the lights
Adding their breeze to the summer nights
Outside, water like air was great
I didn't know what I had that day
Walk a little farther to another plan
You said that you did, but you didn't understand

I know that starting over is not what life's about
But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear my mouth
My thoughts were so loud

I have to type a paper for Current Events about why I am a democrat. About why I am supporting Kerry. About why I despise the Bush administration. I think the difference between me and most people is that I do not "hate" people of the opposite party. I listen to what they have to say. I consider it. But I just think the democratic ideals make more sense. They work for me. I don't know what it is. I was born a democrat and I'll die a democrat. That's just me. I sound like such a complete geek. A politically-motivated geek.

What is your number one pet-peave? Mine is when people talk down to you and treat you like you don't know what you're talking about. People that roll their eyes when you open your mouth. People that use words to purposely make you feel stupid. People whose fucking agenda is so much more important than yours that they can't give you the time of day. I have a problem with people who always have to have the last word and can't see one damn thing wrong with what they're doing. Obviously everyone makes mistakes. But not these people. Reference my former boss and former friends. And the general student body at my school. Especially the fucking football player assholes in my Current Events class who think it's completely sane to carry a loaded gun with you everywhere you go just because it's your "second ammendment right." I'm sure our founding fathers didn't want that. I'm not Thomas Jefferson but I'm pretty fucking sure he didn't need a loaded gun in his pants at all times in order to feel like an American.

I bought Ani Difranco and Interpol tickets yesterday. They are both going to be in Ohio next month. You Ohio peoples should go so you can meet me and my super cool friend and chill with us n'shit. Like, yo.

Where is everyone on this site? It seems like all my friends are gone.

This gorgeous gal totally stole my blood and bathtub idea. Well, not on purpose of course. But shoot.

My buddy crushjunkie writes journals shockingly similar to mine. It seems like we are both feeling the same pain right now. "I am very confused these days. Sometimes happy, sometimes sad, but mostly confused." That is exactly how I feel in a nutshell. "The way people interact has not changed, yet I think my perception of it has been somewhat distorted of late." I thought people I knew and loved were solid. I thought it made perfect sense. But evidently I was incorrect in my understandings. Because now in my life I feel more alone than ever. Sigh le sigh...

I feel weird today. I don't know why. I just do.

I always have to be the one to say "hi" first.

Hi beautiful.

I would have totally jumped on your concert invitation if the artists in question were more to my liking (though I don't really know interpol that well). Sorry. blush Next time, perhaps.

Oh, yeah, I have many 'number one pet peeves' and the ones you list are certainly among them.

Later.

I.

i am so all about gun control that it borders on the ridiculous. some guy came into my store looking for hats with gun brand names on them. i don't think i 'd work there if we sold that kind of stuff.

and you're not a political geek. it's important. i think one good thing about bush being in office is that i know a lot more people (myself included) sitting up and taking notice of what's going on and then actually going out to vote.

my pet peeve? i have a lot, i think. some of what you listed counts for me, too. currently the most annoying thing is the staring. i swear that i don't look like a fucking freak yet i'll still find myself in the grocery store with stupid fucks flat out STARING. i don't care if you look at me. everyone looks. but STARING is rude. bah!
