My birthday was both good and bad, I suppose. I made the mistake of staying up until 5:30 in the morning browsing this here site, and I kind of forgot I had to get up for work at 10.
So I was very tired at work today and I just sort of mulled my way through four hours of making ice cream, hamburgers, fries, etc. It's not highly-skilled work. Very little thought is required. Phew for that. I only worked four hours because I wanted to leave for town at around 3:30 for my birthday dinner.
I left work and I knew something was wrong... my stomach felt flutterly, my legs achey, my body bloated, and ugh. Happy birthday to me.
My birthday dinner was lovely but I felt slightly underdressed in the elegant restaurant atmosphere. And I think my waiter thought I was a dork because I had to ask how to pronounce the dish I ordered. But... maybe he put my dorkyness aside and decided I was super sexy, because he made me a special dessert because it was my birthday. When I began to order dessert after the meal, he interrupted me and said, "Oh, I have a special dessert for you." Oh?
It was quite yummy, too.
The mall closed at six, so I was forced to blow a little birthday money at Target. I bought a pleated skirt, some fishnet trouser socks, a watch, the new Postal Service album as well as the new Sparta, and an Itchy and Scratchy tee. I couldn't believe just that little bit o'crap was over $60!
Inflation, I'm tellin' ya.
When I got home I talked to a few friends of mine on the phone including my loverly boyfriend, whom I miss and for whom I long (I'm a giant cornball). I am going to try to spend a large quantity of time with him tomorrow since I am leaving for a family vacation to Rhode Island at midnight. Tomorrow night. Well, technically the morning of the 27th. Dark = night, I'm sorry. Hours mean nothing to me. I want to squander some hard-earned money (and some not-so-head-earned money) on a digital camera, and I might do that tomorrow as well. I also have to pop by work to pick up clothes I keep forgetting to take home. Who leaves their clothes at work for weeks at a time? Certainly not me. I'm not a giant weirdo like that.
This new Sparta is nice. I highly recommend it.
I received a rather warm welcome to the site, I would say. I have friends. I have comments. I feel muchly loved. I suggest all of you head on over to my pics and browse the nifty folders I only recently created.
Should I post some of my poetry in here for you all to read? I'm a little scared. I want to but then I'm apprehensive. Let me know if you would be interested in reading some of my work, and if I receive and overwhelming demand, I will include a piece in the next entry.
