Totally feel where you're coming from.
In retrospect i was absolutely no good for the inde/punk sceen because i didn't care about modern bands. In large part, i guess, it was the equipment they used: I always dug the late seventies/early eighties amplifiers and sound. also with most modern frontmen, i kind of got the feeling that they were all ex-choirboys - no balls or attitude in their vocals.

It was probably just a case of romanticizing another era. who knows?
I'm also now trying to get current.

Where did you get the Cartoon strip of Ian?

So, I was looking up some info online, came across this, and thought you'd appreciate it...

The State of Oklahoma Government can't differentiate between "State" and "National."

It's going to be funny when they broadcast Live 8 on TV. They'll be showing what's going on in London...

"That was The Who leaving the stage, ladies and gentleman, and now here comes the Sex Pistols. After they're done, we'll have Pink Floyd here for you, but first, let's go to Canada 8, where Celine Dion and Bryan Adams are taking the stage..."

LOL....

Isn't it weird how one really cool person not liking you cancels out about a hundred who do, sometimes?

You can change it (or baleeete) it if you want. The content is a little thin. I'm just testing out the waters these days. Briefer pieces, blog-ier pieces, etc.

Does Bad Brains really make you sad? Because I saw H.R. do a dub-ish reggae gig about a month ago and it was really rather uplifting...

So I'm over at my grandmother's the other night, and we're watching the news while we talk. They move into their segment about Iraq, the usual "8 soldiers were killed in Baghdad today.." blah blah blah.

My grandmother says "I'm so ready for this mess to be over with. We had no business being there in the first place, and we're not helping anything there...

Have you checked out The Last Gang in Town, the Clash biography? It has a lot of good stuff on Pub-Rock, and sort of refutes the myth that punk (at least punk musicians) was a rejection of that style of music. Good stuff.
