Why do I keep hearing that there's "drama" here, but I never see it? I guess I was too busy with the naked girls to start retarded arguments.
Went to see Mike Hosty Duo last night. They're ok, musically talented, but I'm not a big fan of goofy music. I bet you could look through my entire collection and only find like, 4 or 5 songs that *might* be considered funny. Happy, yes. Joyous, yes. Silly, er, no.
Music to me is sacred. Making music is a devine act, and it's kind of sacreligious to me to make music that functions for the sole purpose of delivering punch-lines.
There are some bands I do enjoy in this genre, Tenacious D, but I don't own any of their cds. And you totally get the feeling that the D feel like music is sacred.

What about They Might Be Giants? Most Pavement is pretty silly too, if you ask me. I know Hosty does not compare to these guys in the talent department, but it's all in the turn of the phrase.
