I'm very happy with the way the interview turned out. I was of course super nervous, because I love Sleater-Kinney, but Carrie was very nice. I'm sure my nervousness was a little annoying -- I just hope I wasn't like, breathing heavy or something!
Thanks for all the compliments, I'd probably read every interview Carrie ever did, and so I wanted to make sure mine wasn't bullshit like "What's it like to be women in rock?"
The most appreciated thing I heard was from their press manager, Julie Butterfield, in an email.
"that interview is great! Good job--one of the best set of questions (and going with the conversation) that I've read. I didn't flinch once! (which is rare)"
Something like that makes my month.
I wish I could go see them in Portland on the 31st, but I can't. Dangit, they don't even come into my time zone on most of their tours.
One of the worst things about living in Oklahoma, is that bands of a certain stature, the "big only with the right people" set, their tour dates will be like:
October 20th: Dallas, TX.
October 23rd: Kansas City, KS.
Meaning they probably are gonna drive through Oklahoma without even stopping to play! WTF!
I've also never been able to figure out why some bands go to Tulsa and not to OKC, hello? Tulsa?! That's like, "Oh yeah, we'll play Albany, but screw New York City." Or something.
