Got about three hours sleep last night. Had to work at 7am this morning, and I felt like warmed over roadkill. This man needs caffeine! Stat! Anyway by noon or so I was in proper spirits again, albeit tired, so I guess that would be like roadkill that's still limping and bleeding a little bit.
Went by the record store and talked to Jen, and then went home and crashed out. Woke up barely in time to get showered, shaved, and dressed for Ian's play. Damnit! I have sortof a history of napping and barely making it to plays at the civic center. Anyway, Ian's play is Of Mice And Men. He plays Curly. He was good, but the guys who played Lennie and George were *incredible*. It was a really great show, I was sad that the audience wasn't completely full, but those who were there were rocked.
After that we went back to Ian's place, a studio apartment above the Blue Note, bullshitted a litte, and then went down to the bar. Drank two pitchers worth, played a few rounds of pool, and sang obnoxiously loud (and with appropriate arm gestures) to the Beatles "Rocky Raccoon" which someone had played on the jukebox. I like the Blue Note, it's a fucking dive, and thus our group was the sexiest and most stylish in the place. That doesn't happen very often. :-p
One of my favorite poets, Nixon, was hanging with us tonight. I see him all the time at Galileo's, and it was really flattering that he actually remembered and complimented the poem I read the last time we were both there.
