Some times when you stop and smell the roses you realize they've just been fertilized so you stop smelling the roses. Once you've had a little time away the roses look ever so wonderful.

Honestly being blood related means almost nothing to me now. I have a very small family to begin with and I only really have contact with my sister and one of my two brothers. To me, that is my entire family. The rest of my family is whack and they don't try to have a relationship with me (Read: my mother, uncles and grandma).

You can only give so much and get nothing in return. Staying in touch goes both ways.

I want to spend time with those who are equally invested in having a relationship with me - whether its family, friends or otherwise.

I haven't seen Ben Harper since I was in high school and he was playing around Claremont.

He plays with different people, so you never know. I haven't seen him in Claremont at the African Music Store in a couple of years.
