something interesting occured to me today.
when i was very young, i was in a nursery play called Holly the Hedgehog AS holly the hedgehog, and i had to wear a spiky costume made of paper and dance on my own to a song that went like this:
"Holly the Hedgehog, Holly the Hedgehog,
nobody wants to dance with her.
shes got prickles
how they tickle
all the other animals, they have fur."
its sad isnt it?
but could this be a very relevant metaphor for myself, and the way i view myself?
im a 'spiky' person. people generally see me as a bit icy and not very friendly.
people who know me, know this isnt true, and that once i open up, im quite sweet i guess.
but ive just never been like most other girls....i was never sweet and cuddley hence, nobody ever wanted to 'dance with' me.
so what happened to holly the hedgehog?
well, its a happy ending, because she gets asked to dance by the tortoise. he has a hard shell, so her spikes dont hurt him and they live happily ever after together.
wheres my tortoise....?
