The bestie and I had a friend date at an abused farm animal sanctuary today.
this guy escaped a commercial turkey farm. When the neighbors returned him the farmer said to keep him for thanksfiving dinner. They gave him to animal place instead! his toes and beak were cut off when he was a baby (to prevent fighting in the crowded growing houses) he was a total sweetie, loved having under his wings rubbed!

Got to pet sheep, pigs, goats, turkeys and chickens. also saw cows, rabbits, and their vegan garden (plant compost only, no pesticides) HEAVEN.
This is the home base for the rescue ranch in Vacaville that I volunteered at with the rescued egg farm chickens .
this guy and his twin brother were rescued when their pregnant mom escaped a truck on the way to slaughter. He kissed me on the lips. I LOVE HIM
(both little girls in this picture that we met today have been raised vegan since birth)
Adopting 2 more rescued chickens on Friday. A local egg farms 50,000 chickens have reached 2 years old. at 2 years they gas them all and compost them and start with a new batch of chicks. (chickens only lay eggs for 2 to 3 of their 8 to 10 year lives)
They were only able to rescue about 600 of them
But 2 will be safe with me and Cluck! and enjoy their egg-less retirement loved in a paradise (compared to how they have lived so far).
