we haz a colony
I take walks every morning on my lunch break and I discovered a dozen and a half or so mangy cats and kittens living in a pallet yard on my route
I am going to TNR (trap neuter release) them so they will stop procreating dang it (maybe socialize the kittens)

our local SPCA has an awesome feral cat clinic where they fix, vaccinate, and ear tip them for super cheap!
bringing them food and water today, and everyday from now on when I walk.
In other animal news, we are considering adopting a full grown pot bellied pig that was found stray from the county shelter. Since they can live to be 30, we are hesitant, do I really still want a pig when I'm 60?!?!??!
any advice from previous/current pig owners? Shes not super friendly, so she would be an outdoor girl, but we have lots of shade in the back yard, and there is no landscaping to speak of that we would worry about her destroying lol. Anyone know if pig poop is compostable?
