I've been a bit MIA recently because I've been rearing a kid!

He'll be one at the beginning of next month, and now I can start to put a little bit of time back into myself.

This past weekend I did the Mud Run and raised $150 for MS.

That very same night my husband and I developed a nasty case of food poisoning. Bad timing, of course, because it was stacked on top of the soreness from the 6.4 miles course that I had traversed earlier that day.

I have a small veggie garden at home, but it only provides enough food for a few good bowls of salsa in the summer. ( Gadget will tell you how good my salsa is wink ) I've always said that one day I was going to have a small farm. Recently the idea has become more like a goal. I've been doing research on sustainable farming and quizzing my home brew partner who is also a soil scientist/ no-till expert.

The food poisoning thing seems to kick the notion a bit further, because it's true that I don't know where most of my food comes from.

SO, I've put this dvd at the top of my Wish List It's a bit more then my funds can handle right now, but it would be a lot easier to watch a dvd and chase around a baby boy simultaneously then my futile attempts at reading books.

If you like the idea of growing your own food, then I recommend this book to you...

I've read it twice, and just recently bought it as a book on CD, because, as mentioned, reading is a bit more difficult to do these days. blush

Just planted the last of our summer squash seedlings this morning. My 13 year old lives gardening with me.

The child rearing thing improves tremendously when the entire subject/verb communication thing occurs.
