Sorry for last nights depressing post.
I'm normally a very optomistic person, but last night I was just feeling a bit depressed.
I did my walk for the leukimia & lymphoma society. I raised $326 which I'm proud of.
But the whole scene just was a bit saddening. To see all the T-shairts with pictures of lost loved ones, "In memory of..." made me cry repeatedly. I walked for my friend April, who beat it. But every one who was still fighting carried a white ballon. That made me cry too.
I got a bit sidetracked on the way home trying to find a gas station and i was thinking about that and then thinking of a girl in my class asking me what herbs she could take to be more fertile.
Shes 22, and has only been with her boyfriend for 7 months, she still has 22 years of school AND she's been coming to class high on a regular basis. I told her as nicely as I could that her having a kid ON PURPOSE before shes atleast financially prepared would be selfish. I doubt she'll listen to me. But I digress,
When I did finally make it home after an hour and a half drive, I came home to the Clemson vs Virginia Tech game, where they kept talking about the 23 kids that died in the shooting there this year. 23!! Twenty-friggin-three! It still makes me wonder whats become of humanity. I strive to do good things at any chance I can get, but then I see all this bad and it makes me feel I'm trying in vain.
I think what keeps me going is humor. Thats why I crack cheesy jokes at any opportunity. Thats why I just growled and bit my husband on the elbow. Humor makes it worth it.

All you is knowing that you try your hardest to do the right thing. I strive to do the same. I wanna make people's lives around me better. I hate seeing people in pain, especially when they are people close to me. Also what happens in the world may seem fucked up, but you never see stuff about people like you who try and make people happy, like the walk for leukemia. I am glad I could contribute to that, April is a funny and sweet person. You just have to keep fighting the good fight and trying to improve yourself and other peoples lives.
