Skeleton crew at work tonight, since the staff is a bit smaller on Fridays and someone called off sick. Things went well considering it was my first time working on a Saturday morning paper on a big high school football night.

I don't work in the sports department, but since high school and college football are like religions around here I have to put all...

yeah, being left behind can suck sometimes. its odd that it happened 5 years ago in December. unfortunately, I've never been able to fully grieve, so I'm kind of stuck. and will be for a long time....to break through those walls and get to the emotions will be pretty tough. and almost explosive.

odd how sometimes people bond over some things, huh? and how seeing something can really open your mind.

and for me, I just don't talk about much of anything...with anyone actually. guess its an introvert thing!

Been sleeping well the last few nights/mornings, though I was up and down three or four times today. It's helped improved my mood and my energy levels a bit, though this morning's frustrations have me a bit groggy at the moment. I guess I should have taken pills to knock myself out again. Whatever happened to natural, healthy sleep in my life?

Got a digital...

First night back at work after a week off and everything went well enough. I have no idea what happened last week in terms of the news since when I'm off I'm completely check out. Apparently nothing really big since no one updated me on anything. Then again I don't know anyone who stays a news junkie in the news business. You get numb and...

Man, I don't remember the last time I fell asleep before 2 a.m. the way I did last night. I almost feel like a normal human being, though I'm sure the double-dose of night-time cold pills I took had something to do with it.

Not that I'm sick. I just wanted to get spacey and sleep. Probably not the healthiest means, but what they hey....

Off work this week. Been doing almost nothing but sleeping, like I've been making up for all the sleep I've lost since I switched over to night shift. I should force myself up and out before the week is over, though I have no idea how to live or function anymore. At the very least I should go see the movie 9 now that it's...

about the only thing that keeps me here in the state of New York is finances...affording to move.

if I could leave, I would probably be in Alaska or somewhere remote and isolated from people!

and the new Battlestar: Galactica was much darker than the original one. after all, in the first Battlestar: Galactica, would you see people commit suicide by shooting themselves in the head? or sleeping with various different people (including having affairs)?

Thanks for your comment! Peace to you Man!

Doubling up on migraine pills. Every light in the house turned off. Cat under my feet as usual, since I think she has a foot fetish. Black Sabbath in the background. One of those nights to just space out and not give a damn.

I had a really hard time when my cat died earlier this year.. I had him for about 10 years and he was born in my house that I lived in.. But I had to put him at my Dad's house when I moved to Vegas for about a year and when I returned it seemed he had developed a tumor on his stomach and no one decided to do anything about it. He wasted away to nothing and when I saw him again he was just a bag of bones.. I put him down when I got back to TX earlier this year. It was really sad, but I knew he was MUCH better. Losing pets for me is sometimes harder than losing a real human being. I just feel like they're there for me when most people aren't.

I hate Mondays. They never used to bother me that much, but since it's harder and harder for me to drag myself into work these days, I dread every one of them. Off all next week though. It will be welcome relief.

Nothing much going on except me playing around with the Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's pretty good and feels like I'm playing through...

I don't think I've slept more than four hours a night this week and all it's really shown me is how old I'm getting. Ten years ago it was nothing I couldn't handle and was how I lived most of the time. Now I'm a complete fucking zombie who somehow feels miserable and numb at the same time.

I turn 32 in a couple months....

It seems as though a young cat - not quite a kitten, not quite fully mature - has taken up residence on my front porch. I heard about it the other day, but only caught my first glimpse of it yesterdayafternoon when I was leaving for work and it was sunning itself on the front steps. Grey fur with little white tootsies and skinny as...

Saw District 9. Really quite excellent. Same goes for Inglorious Basterds. Far more dialogue driven than action, which wasn't how it was billed in the trailers but makes it more classic Tarantino. Extra bonus points for having the French actually speak French and the Germans actually speak German, instead of making them all speak English.

why so scared? honestly, you never ran into that situation? or thought about it?
