Been sick for about a week now. Not nearly as bad as I was when I missed a couple days of work early in the week, but still not out of the woods yet.

I get sickly when I'm depressed since I pretty much stop taking care of myself. It's just hard to care.

Did have a brief talk with a much beloved, much missed...

make sure to take care of yourself. and small talks like that can always be a good thing. I've been there, and it can really help. quite a bit!

That's adorable, animals are the best.. they love you unconditionally and almost always know when something is wrong. One of my kitties knows the moment I am upset about something and comes to me.

Feel better soon!!

Halloween is perhaps the only holiday I actually like - and certainly is the only holiday I somewhat acknowledge - anymore...and how did I spend it this year? In a dead silent office, designing newspaper pages, playing rounds of Peggle and shuffling through pictures from local church parties, which at least were good for a giggle with their lame puppet shows and their crosses carved...

hmm, Halloween, I spent it working. came home, stayed up for a while...and then crashed hard. slept. in fact, don't think I washed my face or brushed my teeth before I went to sleep. think I had the idea of "I'll nap quickly and then get up and do everything." but I didn't.

a change of scenary at times can be good. or a change in routine. I know where I work, when I feel like I'm in the same routine day in and day out, week in and week out, it gets to me. I need a change every so often. maybe that's why I'm looking at a job in New Hampshire. that and the state I live in sucks right now for jobs. especially in my field.

so what else is new? for me, my Halloween costume was me all dressed in black (black pants, long-sleeve black shirt, black work shirt). when a manager asked what I was, I responded quite dead pan and seriously "I'm a serial killer, we're indistiguishable from anyone else," in honor of "The Adams Family" movie and Christina Ricci (the part where, for Halloween, someone asks her what she is, and she responds that way). it was fun.

Had all of last week off of work and really didn't do a whole lot of anything other than ignore my birthday as it came and passed. I see them as more of a kids thing anyway. Plus I'm still wrestling with a pretty deep depression that has drained me of all energy and pretty much zapped my communication skills. I find myself pushing the...

it may not have happened by design....but you realized it did happen, and that is important. and that you want to change it.

Feeling a bit better than I did after that last entry, but still run down. The weather doesn't help since it's been nothing but rain and cold nights that are leading into increasingly cold days.

Been sleeping a lot and watching Futurama on DVD yet again. Out of all my DVDs I think I watch those more than any other. What can I say...I can't...

Feeling extremely blue at the moment. Not the worst I've ever felt, but definitely down and out and lethargic, wondering just what the hell the point of everything is.

Saw Zombieland Saturday. Very fun movie with nice humor, nice gore, a wonderful cameo and Woody Harrelson at his best. Spent most of the rest of the weekend sleeping, watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on DVD, eating Chinese food and making a brief journey out to buy a new pair of shoes. Feeling quite relaxed and well-rested at the moment.

Listening to the new...

Nothing much to report this week. Work, work, more work. Had a dental appointment for a cleaning before work in the afternoon. The hygienist was a gorgeous brunette. Sorry you had to prod around in my mouth, but I suppose that's just what you do...

Been listening to the Deftones a lot and emailing friends I haven't talked to in a while. Haven't heard back...

The foot is feeling better. Almost no pain in it at all at this point. Of course I still don't know how I hurt it earlier in the week. I guess it will remain a mystery that probably involved me stumbling around half asleep and a bit numb.

Drizzly outside. A slight breeze in the air. It's starting to smell and feel like autumn, which...

DAMN RIGHT AGAIN! Especially during that Bush area.... Well said my friend!smile
hellstorm:
glad to hear that the foot is feeling better!

yeah, the governor of New York has some issues...my favorites is figuring out how to put all that money in the hands of welfare recepients....under the guise of "buying school supplies."

it would be believable if there were things like "Children between the age of 3 and 17 registered for school" instead of giving the money to anyone with "children between the age of 3 and 17" with no stipulations.

and hey, at least Spitzer spent his own money! but I'm trying to figure out what she did to warrant such a high pay rate! dogs? contortionist? what?

Somehow managed to bang my right foot up something fierce this week. No idea how unless it was my usual stumbling about half asleep at some point in the morning/night. Still, I think I'd remember something happening considering I couldn't really walk on it yesterday. Missed work because of it. Got some nice painkillers though.

Back to work today - in under an hour in...

Went to my barber today, who's an elderly black man who has been cutting my hair - other than when it was long in high school - ever since the Oliver North hearings in the 1980s, and told him to shave me down. I don't think my hair has been this short since I was an infant.

Oddly liberating and certainly low maintenance (for now)....
