Halloween is perhaps the only holiday I actually like - and certainly is the only holiday I somewhat acknowledge - anymore...and how did I spend it this year? In a dead silent office, designing newspaper pages, playing rounds of Peggle and shuffling through pictures from local church parties, which at least were good for a giggle with their lame puppet shows and their crosses carved into pumpkins.

Eventually I remember I always listen to the Misfits on Halloween and switched the iPod on. "Pet Sematary" by the Ramones as well, of course.

One of these years I'm going to dress up like a Droog finally. A tired reference in some places, I imagine, but I doubt anyone around here would have any clue what it was a reference to. Which is one of my problems. I need to escape this place. I'm already prone to extreme lows and this place feels like quicksand.

At least I've stopped pulling away from everyone for the moment. I'm not opening up any and I'm still fairly oblivious to everything, but I'm not running as hard either.
hellstorm:
hmm, Halloween, I spent it working. came home, stayed up for a while...and then crashed hard. slept. in fact, don't think I washed my face or brushed my teeth before I went to sleep. think I had the idea of "I'll nap quickly and then get up and do everything." but I didn't.

a change of scenary at times can be good. or a change in routine. I know where I work, when I feel like I'm in the same routine day in and day out, week in and week out, it gets to me. I need a change every so often. maybe that's why I'm looking at a job in New Hampshire. that and the state I live in sucks right now for jobs. especially in my field.

so what else is new? for me, my Halloween costume was me all dressed in black (black pants, long-sleeve black shirt, black work shirt). when a manager asked what I was, I responded quite dead pan and seriously "I'm a serial killer, we're indistiguishable from anyone else," in honor of "The Adams Family" movie and Christina Ricci (the part where, for Halloween, someone asks her what she is, and she responds that way). it was fun.
