Our Christmas lights on the tree this year twinkle kind of sporadically - as if they have tourettes - I like it - they don't play the reindeer games dictated to them.
I just noticed how pretty our dog's eyelashes are. She is so sweet. Plays nicely at the Dog Park with all the other doggies, big and small, she charms them all. And still, she guards us with all her 6 month-old fervor and loyalty. Good Dog.
Some moments, when I force myself to let the stress dissolve, and I feel the wonder of this fluttering tiny life inside me, I am rendered speechless. I mean literally without the words to describe how overwhelming that sort of connection is. I didn't really have the luxury of enjoying my pregnancy the first time around. I don't want to lose the magic this time.
The man I love is strong and fearless. He endures the impact of so many moving objects hurled our way with such effortless grace that I don't know that we (our daughter and I) even realize just how much he shields us. But I silently thank him. When he sleeps.
The smell of snow just before the first flake hits your nose makes me feel like I am a child again.
White Christmas is on tonight. This is kick ass in a yes I love Bing Crosby and I don't care who knows this is my favorite holiday movie sort of way. I love the movies from that era anyway - the actors and genres were so much more alive.
There are so many endless movements of time that I would love to have traipsed around in. Spans and spatters of decades and seasons that I can only get so much of my fill from reading and at gazing at sketches and photogrpahs. I am particulalry partial to the 1800's, 30's, 40's and 50's and well, of course bits and pieces of medevial debauchery. However, it is much like the countless times I have driven across country. It is all good to visit but we gotta keep moving.
Anyway, the food should be here soon. The dog is napping. The kid is playing with the nativities (baby Jesus is singing with a kazoo at the moment). The man is quiet and restfully reading. And I feel I should engage myself in the midst of this fine Sunday afternoon.
Thus concludes my mental meandering for the moment.

You understand me. Beyond all the cliche Durdenisms... I know that you REALLY understand. I'm an old soul, and I need to make something happen while I'm in this body. I don't know what it is yet, or how I'm gonna do it. But I have to figure it out before they tie me down and trap me too.

So few of us ever realizer what it means to be free, yet alone actually achieve freedom.
